 WHAT IS STRATEGIC HR MANAGEMENT ?

Strategic human resource management (Strategic HRM) provides a framework linking people management and development practices to long-term business goals and outcomes. It focuses on long-term resourcing issues within the context of an organization's goals and the evolving of nature of work.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HR MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGIC HR MANAGEMENT

A strategic HR manager is focused on forming a long-term strategy. For example,when they are looking to hire for a position,they are considering future growth projections and goals of the company.

Strategic Human Resource Management is essential for retaining the best and talent and developing human resources.It focuses on making employees feel valued and engaged so that they are motivated to stay with the company.

SEVEN STEPS OF STRATEGIC HR MANAGEMENT

1. Develop a thorough understanding of ypur company's objectives.

2. Evaluate your HR capability.

3. Analyze your current HR capacity in light of       your goals.

4. Estimate your company's future HR requirements.

5. Determine the tools required for employees to complete the job.

6. Implement the human resource management strategy.

7.Evaluation and corrective action.

MODELS OF STRATEGIC STRATEGIC HRM

Four major models have been identified for strategic HRM.

1. The Fombrun model.

2. The Harvard model.

3. The Guest model.

4. The Warwick model.


CONCLUSION

Strategic Human Resource Management is a process that helps the human resources department maximize the potential of its workforce through strategic palnning,talent management, leadership development, organizational design and performance management. In the past, strategic HR management has been a administrative function.Now that has changed.
